  • Temple 5 at Tikal Maya Ruins in northern Guatemala. At about 187 feet high, it is the second tallest of the buildings at Tikal and is a mortuary pyramid. It is believed to have been built around 700 AD. The section at the top was once covered with detailed artistic carvings and the whole structure was painted.
